Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to advise you of some staffing changes that we will have next year.
We have two teachers who are retiring who between them have given 99 years of service to children, a remarkable achievement! I would like to acknowledge the many contributions that Mrs Jane Matkovich, Teacher/Librarian and Mrs Denise Colwell, part time teacher at WPPS have given to making a difference in the lives of children. I know you will join with me in applauding their dedication to the education and wellbeing of not only our students and our school but to collectively thousands of children whose lives they have touched over the course of their long and fulfilling careers. These two teachers will be sadly missed but we know that they will continue to bring richness and joy to those around them.
We also have two teachers who have gained promotion, Miss Erin Hall and Miss Rachel Yee. These two teachers have given so much to WPPS, the children, the staff and the community. Always the first to suggest new initiatives they would like to implement or the first to volunteer to fill a role, such as the Robotics Club or DanceSport, they are not only co-teachers but leaders and they are leaving big shoes to fill. Rachel has secured a permanent teacher position in Perth, WA and Erin has gained permanency at Baulkham Hills North Public School. Their new schools are indeed gaining gems of teachers.
Finally, I would like to farewell Miss Ellie Gillman, our WPPS music teacher. Ellie, an accomplished musician herself, has brought variety, enthusiasm and expertise into the music program at WPPS. We thank her for all she has done in this arena for us and know that our loss will be Northbridge Public School’s gain.
I wish all these teachers much love, gratitude and very best wishes for the next exciting leg of their journeys. They all have many mountains to climb!
“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting…..”
I wish you all, parents and carers, student and staff a very safe and restful Christmas and festive season.
